Therabox Self Care Subscription Box Summary
Use: Monthly self-care box delivered to your doorstep
Good quality products found in each box
Exceeds what you pay for
Reasonable considering what you get, and no lock-in
Decent support; could do better with real live chat rather than a bot
What we like
- Quality of products is pretty good
- You get 7 or 9 full-sized products, no sample sizes!
- Useful products that you might never come across
- Really nice feeling to receive a box just for yourself each month
What we didn’t like
- Heavy dose of beauty products
- Delivery follows a schedule; gets sent out end of month only
Summary: Therabox is a really useful and interesting subscription that is worth trying out at least once.
Each month, you get a set of different products which is great so you never end up with any excess.
If you liked something, you can easily find the same thing online.
The overall value is great.
If you bought the things separately, it would cost you quite a bit more.
The only bummer is an additional $4.99 for delivery (higher for international orders).
What is a TheraBox?
TheraBox is a self-care subscription box that inspires happier lives.
In order to retrain the brain for greater joy and optimism, they send out 1 happiness-enhancing exercise every month that is motivated by research in mindfulness, psychology, and neuroscience.
Along with the activities, they choose 7-8 wellness products from suppliers who sell all-natural, organic, and feel-good items like aromatherapy, clean beauty/skincare, and specialty lifestyle items.
The options are curated by actual therapists who are experienced with the use of such products, and they work well for all types of self care.
How does TheraBox work?
First, you choose a recurring period that you are good with. There are 4 options in total, monthly, 3-monthly, 6-monthly, and yearly.
When you check out, you will be billed for the period you have chosen plus the total shipping fees.
Each month, you will need to order before the 24th in order to receive the box for the month.
If the box is sold out, which it frequently is, your order will be pushed to the next month instead.
From here, you wait for your self care box to be sent to your doorstep, usually 3-7 working days after the 29th of the month.
What comes in a TheraBox?
In each monthly TheraBox, you will receive one activity, which can be an affirmation cards deck, a book, or a journal.
On top of that, you will also receive 7-8 wellness products that include aromatherapy, skincare, or lifestyle choices.
Each of them is sourced from vendors who produce organic and natural products that are generally sustainable and cruelty-free.
Themes and items change each month so it’s always a delightful surprise!
One concern you might have is what if you don’t use the items that come in the box?
Well, you can easily gift it to someone else, or consider selling it away.
As you will see in the next section, you can in fact make a small profit doing this.
Examples of Things That Come in a Therabox
Let’s take a look at one of their most popular boxes, the “Slumber” Box.
It is valued at over $200 and contains a bunch of really nice stuff, but let’s see if the claim is indeed true.
I have created a table of the value on their site versus what I can find online.
Items in the “Slumber” Box:
|Product||Value on TheraBox site (USD)||Value found elsewhere (USD)|
|Batch | Dream Oil Tincture (1000 mg)||$74.99||$74.99 (Get it from Batch)|
|Vitamasques | Multivitamin Sleeping Mask||$25||$20 (Get it from Verishop)|
|Essence | Self Care Bundle||$21.99||Check on Amazon|
|Professor Herb | Mint and Eucalyptus Night Cream||$25.87+ USD||Unavailable|

|Habit Nest | The Sleep & Evening Routine Sidekick Journal||$28.90||Check on Amazon|
|Total value||$209.74||Close to what is claimed|
Is TheraBox good?
I have been using TheraBox for almost 3 months now, and I am still extremely happy with it.
The product is of great quality and works like a charm.
It’s so easy to use, and you can use pretty much all of the products at home or on the go.
I have added some of them to my personal self-care toolkit and they are really making me very satisfied right now.
How Much Is Therabox?
There are currently a number of options available to you, so let’s take a closer look.
Essentially, the main service being offered by TheraBox is a monthly subscription service where you get a new and different box each month.
These boxes follow a schedule and are shipped out once a month, between the 24-29th, and will reach you typically in the first week of the next month.
Take note that for international customers, this will take anywhere from 7-30 working days.
For this service, you have 4 options, and here’s how they are priced:
- Monthly: US$39.99
- 3-month prepay: US$113.97 (5% discount)
- 6-month prepay: US$215.94 (10% discount)
- 12-month prepay: US$419.88 (12.5% discount)
These plans all auto-renew before the end of the subscription, unless you cancel it.
If you prefer not to have an auto-renew plan, you can order yourself a gift subscription.
You simply pay for the term you want and that’s all you pay. And of course, this is a great way to send a nice surprise to your friends and family too!
Lastly, you can also check out the HappyShoppe. This is where you will find past TheraBoxes and the good news is that they ship immediately!
They cost more though since they are no longer part of the subscription.
Who is TheraBox for?
TheraBox is for anyone looking to start their own self-care routine, especially those who have a busy schedule.
People going through a glow up would find many of the items in there to be extremely useful too.
It is great for those who want to try out new products without doing lots of research beforehand.
If you have a budget of up to $40 a month and want to enjoy the benefits of self care products sent to your doorstep, TheraBox is a sensible choice.
Who is TheraBox not for?
TheraBox is not ideal for someone looking for a subscription box that will send the same exact products each month.
With TheraBox, the items inside will change every month and may not be what you would expect.
If you want the same products, you may check out their HappyShoppe which carries past boxes, or simply browse online for the product you want.
Is TheraBox vegan?
First of all, you got to understand that you will not know what you are receiving in the next month.
Secondly, each TheraBox contains different types of self-care products and there is no guarantee that all of them are vegan, although some are.
Again, you would have to browse the HappyShoppe section where you can see each individual product in each past box.
