It is awesome to be self-confident, but some might take it a step too far and become arrogant. In fact, I have seen some people get confused about positive affirmations and used them wrongly.
They seem to think that they have come into some kind of superpower, telling the world they can do anything, but I can assure you that it is not.
Practicing positive affirmations is a way to help correct negative thinking, but not make you become delusional. When writing affirmations, one does not write down unachievable or unrealistic goals. That’s the difference.
In this post, I wish to share some of my favorite affirmations for humility to remind ourselves who we are and not let our ego ruin everything.

Why should we be humble?
Humility is the ability to recognize your own limitations, and therefore the ability to recognize that you are not perfect.
This is important because when we think we’re perfect, we don’t improve; we just keep on doing things the way they’ve always been done.
If you want to do something new, or better than what was done before, then humility is key.
And when you look at some of the most successful people in history—the ones who have changed our world for the better—you’ll notice that they were all incredibly humble about their achievements.
They didn’t take credit for every little thing they did; instead, they recognized that it was their team’s hard work that made everything possible.
By being humble, they were able to achieve more than they ever could have alone—and that’s what makes humility so valuable!

How to be humble?
Humility is a virtue that many of us are working hard to develop.
When we’re humble, we’re able to listen and learn from those around us.
We don’t have to be the smartest person in the room or have all the answers.
Instead, we can appreciate that there are people around us who may know more than us about certain things and we can use them as resources to help us grow and develop as individuals.
Being humble means knowing your strengths and weaknesses as well as accepting them for what they are—and being okay with it.
For example, if you’re really good at speaking in front of crowds but not so hot at math or science, then you should work on improving those areas rather than trying to pretend like you’re great at everything all of the time!
Here are some ways you can practice humility:
- Listen to others, even when they say things that hurt your feelings or beliefs. Humility requires you to accept the truth regardless of how hard it may be for you to digest.
- Be grateful for what you have and don’t be envious of others who have more than you do (whether material or not). You will feel happier when you stop comparing yourself to other people and focus on what makes YOU unique instead!
- Be generous with your time and resources—help those who are less fortunate than yourself! This will make YOU feel good about yourself as well as give back to society as a whole!
- Be humble when receiving praise or compliments; don’t let them go straight into your head and make you feel like a big shot! Instead, thank people for their kind words instead of telling them “it’s nothing” or something similar.
- Practicing kindness towards others every day. It doesn’t take much effort at all—just try saying “please” or “thank you” whenever possible; smile when someone says hello; offer help when someone looks like they could use some assistance in carrying groceries out of their car
How to use affirmations effectively?
- Identify the negative thoughts that you wish to get rid of or something that you wish to manifest. Affirmations work in both scenarios, but you need to be clear about what you want. This post about learning how to write affirmations might help you out.
- Use the following list as a source of inspiration and guidance. You may use any affirmation as it is, or modify it to make it your own. The key thing here is that the affirmations MUST resonate with you and is a statement you truly believe in.
- Pick out at least 2 affirmations and start using them.
- Begin a routine of practicing at least twice a day of reciting the affirmations with each session lasting 3-5 minutes. Repeat each one 10-15 times daily. You can do this in front of a mirror, speak out loud, or do it in your mind. Do not skip any sessions. I usually do this each morning when I wake and before I go to bed.
- Download and print out your own affirmations worksheet below to use as a guide for manifestation. Stick it on your mirror/journal/vision board, or anywhere you can easily access it throughout the day so that it can serve as a constant reminder to you.

- Be patient! It usually takes a month or so to see changes.
